Youth Encouraged To Walk In Dr. King's Footsteps At Annual Arizona MLK Youth Celebration

Updated: Jan 2, 2023

Individuals from kindergarten to adults are invited to participate in the exciting and entertaining free 2023 Annual MLK Youth Celebration Saturday, January 7, 2023. The event is presented by the Arizona Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee in association with the Phoenix College NAACP/BSU as the host.

The theme this year is "Walking in the Footsteps of Dr. King: Social Action for Democracy." Age-appropriate workshops centered around this theme will be provided for the following grades groups: K-3rd; 4th-5th; 6th-8th; and 9th-college/adult.

The afternoon will then provide the opportunity for young people to showcase their wonderful forms of artistic expression in various genres.

Note that a student or group of students who is not of driving age, should be accompanied by an adult. RSVP for the event azmlk.org (click on Events > Events & Activities > Annual Arizona MLK Youth Celebration > RSVP).

If attendees plan to have lunch with us, they should bring $5 cash per person during the morning sign-in segment of the day. The first 150 students who RSVP online will receive their lunches at no cost when they attend the celebration, and will be notified of this in advance.

If you wish to suggest a young person participate in the entertainment showcase portion of the event, call 602-330-3249 as soon as possible.

We hope to see you, your friends, and your family at the 2023 Annual MLK Youth Celebration as we "walk in the footsteps of Dr. King!"
