Dr. King's Progressive National Baptist Convention Comes To Phoenix

The Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc. (PNBC) is coming to Phoenix, Jan. 16-18, 2023, for its Mid-Winter Board Meeting. The meeting will be at the Phoenix Convention Center, West Building, and theheadquarters hotel is the Phoenix Hyatt Regency. Rev. David R. Peoples is the PNBC President.

The PNBC was co-founded by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1961. Therefore, to have the PNBC to bring its Mid-Winter Board Meeting is very significant and this is the first time they have ever come to Arizona. Find more information at pnbc.org and via social media platforms.

FIBC and Rev. Dr. Warren H. Stewart Sr., are the host church and host pastor, respectively. "We joined PNBC within the last three years because they are committed to Jesus and Justice," Rev. Stewart said. " A matter of fact, their Social Justice Commission, after consulting with me on Tuesday, Dec. 20, is hoping to lead a march to the Arizona State Capitol grounds from the convention center and hold a press conference on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 9-10:30 a.m., against voter suppression and advocating for criminal justice reform in Arizona and across the nation."

The PNBC’s opening night session will be its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Worship Service, 7pm Monday, Jan. 16,, at Phoenix Convention Center West Building. I am humbled that they have asked me to be the preacher for that worship service. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, 7:00 p.m., is President’s Night and Rev. Peoples will be the preacher.
